Privacy

Protecting your data matters to us. This policy explains which personal data is processed when you visit this website and when you use the BlackMachine 8 app. In short: the website uses no cookies and no tracking, and the app does not send any data to us or to third parties.

1. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Invoked
Harald Schmidt
Provinzstraße 84
13409 Berlin
Germany
Phone: +49 171 709 64 63
Email: info@invoked.de

2. Website

2.1 Hosting and server log files

The website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you open a page, the web server processes technically necessary data that your browser transmits automatically and that is stored in log files:

This processing is necessary to deliver the website, to keep it secure and stable, and to defend against attacks. Access to your device, that is, your browser transmitting the IP address and user agent, is based on Section 25(2) no. 2 of the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG), because it is strictly necessary to provide the website to you. The subsequent processing of this data in the log files is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and reliable operation). Log files are stored only as long as necessary for these purposes and are then deleted automatically. We do not combine them with other data and do not use them for marketing. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS.

2.2 No cookies, no analytics, no external content

This website sets no cookies and uses no comparable storage technologies. It uses no analytics or tracking tools and shows no advertising. Fonts, images and scripts are loaded only from our own server; no fonts, scripts or content are loaded from third parties. A cookie banner is therefore not required.

2.3 Link to Google Play

The page contains a link to the app's listing on Google Play. The button image is hosted on our server; as long as you do not click it, no data is sent to Google. By clicking, you leave this website. Google is responsible for processing on Google Play (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland); its privacy policy applies.

2.4 Contact

If you write to us by email, we process your sender address, the content of your message and the email's metadata in order to answer your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your request relates to the app or a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We delete the correspondence once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply. There is no contact form and no registration.

3. BlackMachine 8 app

3.1 Principle

BlackMachine 8 works entirely on your device. The app requires no user account, does not send recordings, projects or usage data to us or to third parties, shows no advertising, and contains no usage analytics or crash reporting tools. We therefore receive no personal data from the app and are not a recipient of your recordings.

3.2 Microphone

The app asks for the "Microphone" permission to record audio, to show the input level and to measure your device's latency. Recordings are stored only locally, as audio files within your projects. You can revoke the permission at any time in the Android settings; recording is then not possible. While the microphone is active in the app, Android shows this in the status bar.

3.3 Storage

The app saves projects, recordings and exported files (mixdown, individual tracks) on your device, usually in the folder "Documents/BlackMachine 8", otherwise in the app's own storage. The files stay under your control; you can copy, share or delete them yourself. When you uninstall the app, files in its own storage are deleted; files in the "Documents" folder may remain on the device and must be removed by you.

3.4 Notifications and background operation

So that recording, playback and export keep running when the screen is off or you briefly open another app, the app uses a foreground service with a visible notification (project name, status, stop button) and keeps the device awake during an export. For this, the app asks for the notification permission. No data is transmitted to third parties in the process.

3.5 Settings

The app stores settings such as the language or recently opened projects locally on your device. They are not transmitted and are deleted when you uninstall the app.

3.6 Purchase and installation via Google Play

The app is offered through Google Play. Purchase, payment processing, installation and updates are handled by Google, which processes data under its own responsibility (for example account, payment and device data). From Google we receive only aggregated statistics that do not allow us to identify you and, where applicable, anonymised crash and performance data (Android Vitals) from users who have agreed to share it in their Android settings. We do not receive payment data.

4. Storage period

We store personal data only as long as necessary for the respective purpose (see sections 2 and 3) or as long as statutory retention periods require. After that, it is deleted.

5. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights:

To exercise your rights, an email to info@invoked.de is sufficient.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR), in particular in the place where you usually live or at the controller's seat. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit), Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin, Germany.

6. Security

The website is delivered over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The app stores data only locally and uses no network connection for project data.

7. Changes

We will update this policy if the website or the app changes or if the law requires it. The version published here applies.
